Between 2003-2013, Gert travelled the world competing in professional strongman leagues and winning acclaim in esteemed international competitions. In the years after, Gert reignited his love for boxing and earned his professional boxing trainers license. In 2017, while preparing to open his third and largest sports club, Gert realized he had less and less time for boxing. While working in the gym every day, Gert decided to pivot and began training for professional bodybuilding competitions. In 2018, after only one year of training and preparation, Gert entered and won 1st place at the Latvian Open Championship in heavyweight category. In 2022, he took second place in the 40+ age category at the Mr. Olympia in Portugal.

Growing up, Annika was deeply involved in show and modern dance competitions. However, it was only in 2010, after she won a 3-month training pass to Gert’s gym through a Facebook competition, that Annika started regular weight training. It was love at first sight, Gert and Annika have been inseparable for the past 13 years – living and training with one another for competitions. Annika started participating in competitive bikini fitness at the same time that Gert began his bodybuilding career in 2017. In 2021, she came second in the 35+ age category at the IFBB European Championships in Spain. She went on to win 1 st place in the general bikini fitness category, in both 2022 and 2023, at the NAC Latvian Open Championships. Her best results, in the 2023 NPC bodybuilding league, consisted of third place in the Swedish GP and third place at the Polish GP. In 2022, Gert and Annika jointly participated in their first couple fitness competition, winning first place in the Latvian competition.
